In a dedicated effort to preserve and rejuvenate the sacred waters of the Indus River in Ladakh, a large-scale cleanliness drive titled “Singe Tsangspo Tsangde Lasgul” (Let’s Clean the Indus River) was on Tuesday organized in the Nyoma sub division under the leadership of Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Kacho Asgar.
Volunteers collected waste from various locations, including the community, market area and banks of the Indus River. The collected waste included plastic, discarded packaging materials, and other non-biodegradable items which pose serious threats to the local environment and wildlife.
